Children of Eden 2010
Youth Ensemble Productions

We are pleased to announce our summer show will be Children of Eden, written by Stephen Schwartz. “I think the work of which I am most proud is Children of Eden…there are more of the themes that I return to over and over – personal responsibility, rebellion, intellectual independence, as well as overcoming family dysfunctions – in this work than in any of my other shows…it has become a viable and often performed piece that I know will live on after I’m gone.” –Stephen Schwartz

Book by  John Caird
Music by  Stephen Schwartz
Lyrics by  Stephen Schwartz
Based on a concept by Charles Lisanby

Discription from Music Theatre International website:

From Stephen Schwartz ("Godspell" and "Pippin") and John Caird of "Les Miserables" comes a joyous and inspirational musical about parents, children and faith... not to mention centuries of unresolved family business!  Freely based on the story of Genesis, "Children Of Eden" is a frank, heartfelt and often humorous examination of the age-old conflict between parents and children. Adam, Eve, Noah and the "Father" who created them deal with the headstrong, cataclysmic actions of their respective children. The show ultimately delivers a bittersweet but inspiring message: that "the hardest part of love... is letting go."

Rehearsals at La Colina Jr. High School June 14 to July 20 After noon rehearsals times to be announced. Performances Wednesday 7/21 through Saturday 7/24 at 7 PM                                      Tuition $495, 10% discount if paid in full by June 1, 2010
